In this one-semester economics course, students will study markets and basic economics; the microeconomics of business and labor; the macroeconomics of money, monetary policy, and fiscal policy; personal finance, including essential life skills, cyber threats, and identity theft; and globalization and technology.

The course incorporates readings, written work, Socratic discussion, and internet-based assignments to hone students’ critical thinking skills and teach them how to conduct research. Students will learn key ideas and details necessary for understanding economics, they will integrate economic concepts and ideas into their own worldviews, and they will use their new skills and knowledge on their paths to becoming well-informed and responsible citizens.
