What we offer . . .
Expert Instruction
Our language arts classes give students a thorough understanding of the building blocks and structure of our language so they can become skilled communicators with a greater appreciation for writing and reading. Our students make use of exceptional contemporary and classic literature to expand their academic knowledge and critical thinking skills, enrich their vocabulary, and encounter and ponder universal themes and truths. In our history, government, and economics classes, students gain a deep understanding of past and present societal, governmental, and economic structures, empowering them to become informed and engaged citizens.
Individual Attention
Our in-person and live online classroom environments allow our instructors to give your children the time and attention that they need in order to succeed. We believe in keeping class numbers low to maximize each child’s learning potential. Our focus is on mastery of concepts, deep connections to the material, and a wide range of writing projects, and our instructors go out of their way to help your child excel. We are also happy to offer flexibility and accommodations to students with IEPs and 504 plans.
Core & Elective Classes
Select from a full range of core history, literature, and composition classes for middle-school and high-school students as well as a wide variety of fun and enriching electives including such student favorites as Adventures in Podcasting, Mythology, Books to Film, Model United Nations, Writer’s Boot Camp, and many more. What parents and students say . . .
I just wanted to thank you for your excellent English classes this past year. I can’t tell you how impressed I was by the curriculum and instruction. Each of your assignments is an excellent learning tool.
I am confident [my son] learned a lot and will be a better writer in 9th grade next year. I am certain he will use all of the skills he learned in both Writers Boot Camp and English Literature 1 with Mrs. Schroder. I have already been recommending your courses to friends interested in homeschooling next year.
― Stephanie, grade 9 parent
Just had to share with you the sweetest conversation I had with [my son] this afternoon. He was telling me how much he admires you and enjoys learning from you… As a parent, I really appreciate that he has such wonderful adult role models to look up to, such as you!
― Angele, grade 9 parent
Just wanted to say once again how much your wisdom and classes have meant to me. I’m so grateful that I had the opportunity of being in your classes, as you’ve been an amazing teacher for all of these years.
In addition to being really educational, teaching us some psychological…and also some historical facts, your classes were always fun…You have a real passion for what you teach, and it shows…You’ve always just been a great person, always understanding and helpful and passionate about not just the material, but that we enjoy it and learn from it, too. You’ve been the best teacher, and you’re the kind of teacher I aspire to be.
